M/s. International Electron Devices Limited was established in the year 1979 to
manufacture the Electron Guns for Television Picture Tubes, the core business of
Samtel group. The manufacturing activities were carried out within the premises
of its Registered Office at A-208, Okhla Industrial Area, Phase -I, New Delhi.
After excellent innings of 10 years, the company diversified its operation to include Engineering products.
A second unit under the same company profile was set up at Ghaziabad for manufacturing of
Sheet Metal Parts. Commercial production commenced in January 1990 and was a great
success. Additional facilities for manufacture of other sheet metal items like Frame,
Inner Magnetic Shield, Lugs, Sheet Metal Fabrications and jobbing work, were also created
in-house.
Company has also started manufacturing automobile components for various original Equipment manufacturers.
The company has added facilities for designing, development & manufacture of Injection
Moulded Components, Metal Forming Press Tools & Special Purpose Machines.
A separate shop has been set up to manufacture Special Purpose Machines. The SPMs manufactured are
PLC- controlled-Semi-automatic machines as per customer requirements. Facilities are
available to design SPMs based on conceptual description provided by customers.
In 1999 Company entered into exports of Automobile and CPT components. Now the company is exporting
Automobile components to major car manufacturers in Europe and CPT components to Thailand.
In the year 1999, a specialized manufacturing facility for Auto parts and sub-assemblies was created at KANPUR
as a " Unit- II" which is catering the needs of two-wheeler Industry. Apart from sheet
metal parts, products included are silencer, wheel Rim , main frame and Shocker assemblies
for scooter and Motorbikes. At Kanpur a state of the art and technology, Automatic Tri Nickel Chrome Plating Plant has been
installed for catering the need of automobile industry.
In the year 2001-2002 the company did a turnover of Rs. 110.00 crores. In the year 2002-2003 the company has done a turnover
of Rs.162 crores. The expected turnover for 2003-04 is Rs.250 crores.
